A man was rushed to the hospital on Saturday morning, June 1, after a canister of acetylene exploded in a car trunk at a home in Worcester County, authorities said. The explosion was reported at 216 Brattle Street in Holden Saturday morning after the tank blew. Just after 11:33 p.m., Nassau County Police said that a man walked into the 7-Eleven located at 254 Elmont Road, lit a single firework, and threw it into the store’s middle aisle. Sayreville Explosion Knocks Power To 4,300
An explosion in Sayreville injured one person and left some residents without power, police said. The explosion occurred about noon on Friday, May 24 near Main Street and Sayreville Boulevard, police said in a release. Sayreville police said a related fire was under control. Main Street was closed between Sayreville Blvd South and MacArthur Avenue. According to JCP&L, 4,300 customers were without power. There was no ETA on power restoration.
