NY Horse Trainer Guilty Of Animal Cruelty Dodges Jail Time: Authorities
A New York horse trainer convicted on three counts of animal cruelty will not serve any jail time, authorities announced Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Andrea Nussinow, 64, of Tivoli, will instead pay a $1,750 fine, spend three years on probation, and complete 100 hours of community service, the Columbia County District Attorney’s office said.
Additionally, Nussinow was banned from owning any horses, though she was allowed to petition the court to possess two horses in the future, according to prosecutors. All 13 of Nussinow’s horses were seized in her July 2024 arrest.

NY Cab Driver Nearly Killed In Early-Morning Customer’s Knife Attack, Robbery: Authorities
A New York man called for a cab, then tried to kill the driver and stole the vehicle, authorities said.
Jonathan Tejada, 32, of Scotia, was indicted Wednesday, Aug. 26 on first-degree attempted murder and other charges for the attack on the cabbie at a Motel 6 at 2700 Curry Road in Colonie on Wednesday, Aug. 19, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.
