Pedestrian Dies After Hit By Vehicle: Manchester PD
A 43-year-old Whiting man died after they were struck by a vehicle in Manchester, authorities announced Tuesday, Aug. 25. At 9:37 a.m., on Sunday, Aug. 9, a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of County Route 530 and Swift Circle in Whiting, Manchester police said. Richard Fescharek sustained multiple life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash, police said. Fescharek was pronounced dead Friday, Aug. 14, police said. The crash remains under investigation, though it is believed to be caused by improper crossing, police said.

2-Alarm Jersey Shore Fire Emits Plumes Of Smoke: FD
Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire in Beach Haven Monday afternoon, Aug. 24, authorities said. At 4:34 p.m., firefighters responded to a structure fire at 211 Leeward Ave., a three-story wood frame home, Beach Haven Volunteer Fire Company said. While en route, firefighters saw a column of smoke in the area and tolled a second alarm, fire officials said.
