15 Dead, Nearly 900 Crashes Reported On Virginia Roads During Holiday Weekend: State Police
Fifteen people never made it home over the holiday weekend.
Virginia roads turned deadly over the Fourth of July weekend as 15 people were killed in 14 separate crashes between Thursday, July 2, and Sunday, July 5, according to preliminary data released Tuesday by Virginia State Police.
The fatal crashes happened in Alleghany, Appomattox, Brunswick, Fauquier, Frederick, Nottoway, Pulaski, Roanoke, Shenandoah, Smyth, Spotsylvania, and Suffolk counties, as well as the City of Danville.
Frederick County recorded two deadly crashes during the four days.

What started as a Fourth of July celebration ended with a man dead inside a home.
Loudoun County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a home in the 43000 block of Helmsdale Terrace in Chantilly around 1:52 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, after receiving reports of a shooting inside the residence.
When they arrived, deputies found 33-year-old Brandon Fadden, of Centreville, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
